(148) Stones

Once upon a time there was a woman at the age of 26.  She met a man who was 39, and he handed her a cassette tape called Love Songs.  She listened to the tape day and night, as the songs told a story to her, one that created a new vision in her mind of all the future could hold. She believed it didn’t even have anything directly to do with the man. The vision was enough.

Yet, it did have to do with the man. The music gave her courage to cast away the stones in her life, and soon she could see he was indeed a part of the new vision. One night she pointed out these words and said, “This is us”:

You and me, a time for planting

You and me, a harvest granting

The every prayer ever prayed

For just two wildflowers that grow

These two wildflowers did their planting and they grew. Every prayer has been prayed. Every prayer has been answered. It is harvest time, and they are grateful.
