(64) Tribute:City of Palms

Thought I might do a little throwback Thursday today and landed on this photo from June 29, 2012.  It was taken from the top of the Indigo Hotel in Fort Myers.  It prompted this poem in tribute.

Fort Myers

Bridges raise an arc in the sky

Buildings proudly restored and colorful

Brick streets and sky top bars

Art shows and live theater

Sit on a patio and sip iced tea

Watch a sailboat slide by

Sit by the sculpture in Centennial Park

The fountains will sing you their song

Once a cowtown, then a ghost town.

No more.

Fort Myers. City of Palms.

My town.
